milky

I have no idea what the name of these plants actually is, but I've been calling them milkweed, because they seem like they should have a name like milkweed.

Though I've spent much of my life trundling through semi-wild spaces, I never learned the names of things. Somehow, tree, other tree, still another tree always seemed sufficient.

All photos Assiniboine Forest, Wpg, MB. November 6, 2005.

But in the interest in specificity/accuracy, if anyone actually knows what this plant is, I'd welcome an identification...

Thanks, you two, for all your kind words.

I think I'm going to consult my Budd's Flora, a prairies-based tome, to see if I can find my plant...instead of relying on the kindness of strangers, that is.
