Also of note: The cool breeze just before you crest a hill or come around a corner and suddenly there is nothing but down. The thrum of wings as things move from thorny tumbleweed to living shrub only a shade greener, the birds blushing pink at their own impudence. The warty surface of red sandstone as it...very slowly...rejects purple ironstone pellets.
