Event management

So many Barry Dempster events, so little time...

I signed up for the master class moments after it was confirmed...and will probably show up early to the reading, so I can get a chair in Mr. Mierau's purple living room. And maybe even put my feet up.

Barry Dempster will be reading at the Dundurn Artists Centre (the home of poet Maurice Mierau) on Tuesday, April 18. Dempster has published numerous books of poetry, including The Salvation of Desire (St. Thomas Press, 2000) and Living Well (Poppy Press, 2003). For six years, Dempster was Poetry and Reviews Editor for Poetry Canada. Currently, he works as an editor for Brick Books.

About the instructor: Barry Dempster is the author of nine poetry collections, including The Words Wanting Out, Poems Selected and New (Nightwood Editions) and the Governor General's Award-nominated The Burning Alphabet (Brick Books). He lives in Holland Landing, Ontario, where he runs two book groups, a film series and several writing workshops.

Registrants must have at least one publication credit in a reputable literary magazine to participate. Class size limited: Max. 12 participants.
