I know April can be a bit of a blur for booky people, but if you're at a loss, these two events are well worth the time...
(Of course, I'm biased - My poem Wallow will be appearing in Home Place and I'm on the MB Poetry Endowment Fund Initiative Committee, soliciting chocolate left right and centre.
Speaking of which, I can take any surplus chocolate or chocolate-related items off your hands, should any of youse in blogland have any such surplus.)
I'm also planning to take in the launch of Alison Calder's Wolf Tree, April 12th, but that's a whole other kettle of fishflies.

Come out and celebrate Home Place, a Winnipeg Poetry Extravaganza!
On Friday, April 27 Prairie Fire Press celebrates Winnipeg poets with the launch of Home Place, a special poetry supplement.
We will celebrate the launch of Home Place with readings by thirty-four of our city's finest poets.
This event will take place at McNally Robinson Booksellers' Grant Park location (travel alcove) and is part of Manitoba Book Week.
Reading starts at 7:00 PM and is free to the public. Refreshments served.

Quatrains & Chocolate: A Lyric Celebration will take place on Saturday, April 21st, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Augustine United Church (444 River Avenue).
This Manitoba Book Week and National Poetry Month event will feature readings by the short-listed nominees for the inaugural Lansdowne Prize for Poetry:
Lise Gaboury-Diallo
Laurie Block
Sarah Klassen
As well as an ad lib typewriter/poetry performance by local spoken word sensation Poor Tree and jazz music by the Maurice Mierau Trio.
The event will also feature the Ultimate Chocolate Raffle and Chocolate goodies and gourmet coffee by Finales Coffee House.
