Paperchase 10

In this edition of Paperchase:
* It was a good week for Winnipeg's young adult writers. First, Martha Brooks picked up a third young adult Canadian Book Award for her 2007 novel, Mistik Lake. Next, Anita Daher's name appeared twice on the Crime Writers of Canada's Arthur Ellis Award best juvenile short list.

* The Spirited Anarchy Festival, slated for May 9-11 will feature workshops, a bookfair, and performances by Marie Annharte Baker, Clarise Foster and Colin Smith.

* Oxford-trained historian and Maclean's foreign correspondent Michael Petrou will be in Winnipeg May 6 as a part of the annual May Works Festival.

* University of Manitoba professor Esyllt W. Jones has won the Manitoba Historical Society's Margaret McWilliams Award in the scholarly history category.
