* On Tuesday, the Asian Heritage Society of Manitoba presents a reading by Montreal's Anita Rau Badami at McNally Robinson Grant Park.

* There are still tickets remaining for Speaking Volumes, Winnipeg literary magazine Prairie Fire's annual spring benefit.

* Also on May 31, Winnipeg poet and mystery writer Catherine Hunter will be appearing at the Vancouver launch of a new anthology of Irish and Canadian poetry.

* North American readers will finally get a glimpse of the Swedish trilogy of thrillers that have become a cult favourite in Scandinavia and Europe.

* Former Winnipegger Jon Paul Fiorentino, who now calls Montreal home, will publish a new work of fiction with ECW Press, reports Quill & Quire.
