* Winnipeg novelist David Bergen is among the headliners announced this week for the 2008 line up of Toronto's International Festival of Authors.

* Former Winnipegger Angela Hryniuk will launch her fourth book of poetry at McNally Robinson's Grant Park store on July 9.

* Tickets are still available for the Brandon Folk, Music and Art Festival July 25-27, which for the second year running will include a literary component.

* A rare presentation copy of Jane Austen's Emma (1816) went for just over $360,000 at auction this week, reported The Guardian.
