Hear that? After two walks in the forest in as many days, that gulping sound you hear is me swallowing all my complaints. Is me forgetting I even have complaints...
M and I went off-path today, abandoning the leaf-choked side of the trail for the downed logs in the bush.
About three quarters of the way into what was a becoming a long-ish walk, M started muttering he was getting hungry. Then he announced he was feeling faint.
Then he said he wasn't kidding, he really felt faint.
I told him that I'd stop shooting but that if he fell down, I didn't think I could carry him out.
He then asked me if I had anything in my bag that he could eat.
Water, I answered. And diaper coupons.
I can't convey what M said to that without the google bots getting me good, but let's just say that this time, it wasn't only the stinkhorns getting looked at askance.
(He was fine, by the way. It was nothing that a clubhouse and fries from the Garwood Grill couldn't solve.)

So many problems can be solved by a clubhouse and fries.
Mmm. While clubhouses ARE nice, my default is a hot sweet cup of tea. Sigh...
A soothing glass of Ardbeg for me.
