Intended as a repository of photos, poems-in-progress, and news, The Jane Day Reader will blare and babble, bubble and squeak, semi-regularly.

stories
All photos Lumsden, SK. July 29, 2008.
* * *
I realize that the titles of these photos, taken together, sounds VERY gossipy and hateful (yes, yes, I know, my usual mode) but after three long stretches of freewriting as a way of burrowing into the new project (and two storms immediately following the writing, which was wonderful but also ooky), I'm feeling very goddamn hopeful.
Last night I snuck out St. Michael's side door and drove to Regina to visit Tracy. It felt very illicit, leaving the retreat, but was completely keeping with T's vibe and also exactly what I needed. The clean clothes produced by her washer/dryer were also exactly what I needed...
Today I burst into tears while writing. That's never ever happened to me. But I'm determined to cry and also determined to write, so we'll see...
Tonight is the last experient reading. I'm looking forward to sinking into an evening of performances, gin and tonic in hand. I'm greatly looking forward to hearing Roewan Crowe read, after hearing her speak so wisely about writing and art and also of her project.
More later!

Illicit maybe, but wonderful nonetheless! So good to have some chatting time in person for a change!
Oh, T, I so completely agree. I'm looking forward to seeing you again at least once this fall...
