Hi Ariel:
We met when you were judging poetry at the 2009 Writers' Collective Awards. I received an honourable mention for a poem, so it was inspiring for me to learn that you had won the 2010 John Hirsch Award for Most Promising Manitoba Writer. Congratulations on your award and on the publication of your new book. I just found your blog, thanks to the Collective's website. I have a passion for photographing mushrooms as well. I have seen some fantastic specimans while walking the woodland trails at Gull Harbour.

happy writing,

Thanks for your kind words, Debbie.
I'm glad to hear there are other mushrooming poets out in the world.
I'll have to check out Gull Harbour...though I always feel like I'm cheating on the forest when I go elsewhere for my mushrooms.
Also: keep writing!
